If the Television in our homes stops working after serving us for a good couple of years, we immediately look for other options to replace it. In the same way, if any other appliance or fitting around the house stops working, we need to replace them with a new part. We can do this on our own or employ the services of a professional, this depends on our capabilities. The one area where home owners find a lot of problems arising in the kitchen area, and the sink especially. There are bound to be issues such as water leakage, the mixer not working, or the tap would have lost its washer and we would be unable to shut the water. At such times, we need to redo the plumbing, and its time for fitting new taps. Some other circumstances where new taps might be required is when the one's we have become rusted and gone old; or when a new style tap is available in the market.

This could happen if a person is redecorating their house, changing the furniture and putting in new electronic appliances or fittings, be it the kitchen or the bathroom. Then, this requires plumbing work and fitting new taps in all the rooms. While replacing the old tap, one needs to pay attention to the kind of plumbing existing before they go for purchasing a new tap. If it is a mono bloc mixer, then the tap should have provision for both hot and cold water pipes to come through it, but if it has two holes, then each will have individual provision.

The wrench is the tool that we need to use to remove the old pipe, but before this the water flow must be stopped else the room will get flooded. After this, make sure to clean the pipe before installing the new taps. This will give you unlimited hassle free water supply for a long time to come. If the new taps have been picked out, the plumbing work needs to be completed before fitting new taps in the slot by a family member or plumber. It's always wise to put in a suitable plastic connector on the pipe so the thread in the tap does not get damaged. And make sure to try the tap once you fit it to see if it functions properly or needs a bit of tweaking.
