New Immigrants Benefit From Owning A Canadian Secured Credit Card

I was required to get a U.S. credit card while I was working on a project for my company. Since I was a Canadian citizen, I didn't have a U.S. citizenship or U.S. credit history. I had a good credit score and good history yet it did me no good when I needed one for the U.S. I can tell you how fustrating that was for me. Can you imagine how new immigrants feel when they come upon this problem.
With my company's reputation being the security I needed to get a U.S. credit card, I finally got one with a small credit limit.
Though I had excellent credit in Canada for 25 years, I still found it frustrating not being able to get a U.S. credit card. I had no history with any U.S. credit card company, so no history of any credit rating.
Coming to Canada, it is advisable that new immigrants restart their credit. It has to be frustrating for a family who has moved to Canada to restart all over again having owing and losing a home, credit cards, etc., in their former homeland.
Unless this family has a lot of cash to work, with they'll be forced to rent an apartment while they save up for a home. Renting doesn't affect your credit rating. They won't be able to get loans of any type unless they have sizable security deposits or other assets.
With the help of a secured credit card and a small deposit of $75.00, a new immigrant can start their credit history. What this does is, the credit card company reports to Equifax and TransUnion almost immediately and it starts to build your credit history almost immediately.
Every one has dreams of owning a home, car and living the Canadian lifestyle. Even those moving into Canada. The fastest and most convenient way to do this would be with a secured credit card. This immediately starts a credit history on them and makes it easier for them to own mortgages and loans later in the future.
