Let me tell you about our new Indoor Hot Tub
Linda Kemp
When I suggested we should have a Hot Tub installed in the ground floor extension of our house I thought it would be as it usually was when I came up with that kind of an idea, that my husband would say as he invariably did on such occasions. 'Are you crazy? And how much is it going to cost?' but I didn't make the suggestion without having given it a lot of thought and was convinced we had the perfect place, virtually unused, to have the benefit of a Hot Tub..
A few months after we'd moved in, he was complaining about back pain one evening. I used that opportunity to mention getting an indoor hot tub and how wonderful it would be for his aches and pains. Much to my shock, he didn't veto the idea immediately. He said that it was an idea that was worth thinking about. I dropped it, not wanting to look or sound too eager.
A few days later I was stunned to hear him say if I wanted an indoor Hot Tub some changes would have to be made in the room where it was to be fixed. Concealing my excitement I listened as he outlined what was needed and when he suggested that we make a start with improved ventilation first on the list I needed no persuading.
For the moisture to escape a couple of ceiling fans as seen in bathrooms, or something similar, would need to be fitted. There was no way it would be satisfactory otherwise.
We decided to put in two small ventilation bathroom type fans that would be as quiet as imaginable. We also agreed that we would need to put down some new flooring. Putting an indoor hot tub in on top of carpet was definitely not a wise idea. So, we went shopping for some tiles that could withstand getting wet on a daily basis.
It was a chance to make the place where we intended to put a Hot Tub look really classy with our new addition to the household standing resplendent on the new floor tiles. On a less exciting note but very necessary, a small drain was included in our plans, so that any excess of water wouldn't create a pool on the new tiles beneath the new Hot Tub.
The ground work done we were ready to take the plunge so to speak and went to buy what for us would be an efficient, and within our budget, indoor Hot Tub, and after visiting a few outlets we made our choice.
It would hold 4 people, which means that the two of us would fit into it perfectly. Before I knew it, I was sitting in my new indoor hot tub, watching the rain fall down right outside of the windows. While the wind blew outside, I was snugly warm and cosy inside.
