In The World Of Recreational Vehicles Class A Motorhomes
Clint Westfall
The Class A recreational vehicle is unsurpassed among the RVs. Class A's come in 21 feet to 40 feet, the bigger the more they will accommodate. If you see something on the road the same size as a bus but beautiful then that is a Class A RV. They weigh around 15,000-30,000 pounds and are built on a chassis that looks like a truck chassis. The front of a Class A has an extremely big windshield, and the front end is flat. The inside of one is exquisitely designed.
Many RVs are just as equipped and plush as a custom home. Class A motor homes include full kitchens and bath, some have showers, a bedroom in the rear, some of the amenities are hot and cold water, air conditioning, heat, closets, entertainment centers, couches, recliners, whatever your dreams or needs are can be reality in a Class A recreational vehicle.
With a Class A you also have an option of a slide out room. A slide out is operable by the push of a button, the slide out rooms come from just a portion to a whole wall will pop out to make additional room for entertaining or moving around. The slide out will add 1 meter, or 3 1/2 feet.
The best thing about RVs is the fact that you can get up and move around, even cook if you desire while the motor home is on the road. You can even take yourself a nap and not have to park or pull over if your not the driver...
Class A are very nice to drive and ride in. With the solidity and strength of the construction they are very easy maneuver. If you have any kind of driving experience you can handle a large vehicle with practice. No need to get a different license unless you have air brakes.
Class A motor homes come in many shapes and sizes as well as accommodations so with these choices you also get a wide range for the cost of one of these beauties. The smaller models with the basic start at about $50,000, and as you get bigger and more extravagant the bigger in price, they can go well over $1 million. The price for a motor home is comparable to your extravagant homes, depending on the upgrades and add on's. For some people this is a dream come true they get all the accommodation one can dream of having in their home and they get to take it anywhere they dream cause their home is on wheels, giving them the option to travel in style.
Full timers who live in their motor home usually have their Class As winterized meaning they have better grade of insulation, high BTU furnace, heated water tanks, and double pane windows.
Because of the size and the time it takes to hook up and unhook most RVer's tow a more gas efficient vehicle behind them for easier transportation to and from the store, or any sight seeing you may take that your motor home is not able to reach. The tow vehicle is any where from a car to a SUV.
