Don't Let Go Of Christmas Spirit

The holiday season always seems like a whirlwind of shopping, parties, pageants, and family gatherings, a month or two of furious, but joyful, activity, leading up to Christmas and the New Year celebration. By the time it's all over, most of us need a breather, a bit of time to relax and reflect and renew.

But after a few weeks without the parties and colors and music, many of us start to miss the holidays. Winter sets in, with its cold, dark days, and the whole world seems to slow down, as we realize that it's a long wait for the next Christmas season with all of its wonder and fun.

But the feelings generated by the season leading to Christmas need not vanish completely, for the calendar, beyond December. Though Santa Claus's visit is the high point of the holiday season for families with children, there are many other aspects of these days that can be kept fresh and alive, throughout the year.

Once the treasures that Santa brought have all been opened and played with, many families realize that last year's toys and games are swept aside or tucked away in storage. Those toys that still have life in them are perfect for donation to charity, to make other childrens' lives a bit happier. Donation centers do the bulk of their collections before Christmas, so bringing gently-used toys and games after Christmas is a wonderful gesture.

Outgrown clothing, especially winter clothing, is also perfect for post-holiday winter donation. Collecting and preparing clothing and toys for donation can be a whole-family project, and the trip to the donation center, to make someone else's life a little brighter, can be turned into a real, special family outing.

There are many activities, like volunteering, that families engage in throughout the holidays, which are just as rewarding and necessary the rest of the year. Once a family has experienced the joys of giving and gathering at Christmas, there's no reason to let those feelings lie dormant for the rest of the year. The holiday feelings can be year-round feelings.

Imaginary Greetings helps scores of families worldwide by enlightening and adding to their children's once in a lifetime magical beliefs like not ever before possible. You too can make this happen with a http://www.GreetingsFromSanta.com/ letter from Santa Claus.
