Many people in America utilize MLM to make money. Millions of people use this method for their primary income source or in order to get one.. The MLM Industry has changed since the beginning of the 1950's when just a few companies were involved in this type of enterprise.
With the advent of better technologies, namely the Computer and the Internet, there has been a proliferation of MLM Company startups. At first, this created extra opportunities for the average MLM distributor. Lately, however this phenomonon has hurt the MLM distributor.
The significant amount of opportunities available today has limited the average MLMer to recruit from the same pool of available distributors. It has also contributed to a state of confusion in the MLM Marketplace. With so many MLM Companies to choose from, how can you be sure you are making the right decision. If a small amount of difficulty develops, don't worry, the Greatest MLM startup will occurr and be anounced in the afternoon's email! A lot of jumping from company to company occurs because of the phenomenon.
There are so many MLM companies available now and on the drawing boards to launch that it is a surprise that any of them can survive. To be able to compete in this new environment, the new MLMer must undertake different marketing and sales tactics to flourish. Most will be unable to compete.
The new level of competition will require that the MLM distributor go outside the available pool of distributors to recruit a sales force. This will expand the distributor base and allow the MLMer to recruit to a wider audience. More training will be needed to bring the new "outsider" up to speed. This takes a lot of time but will result in a very important aspect of MLM which builds relationships
Having Physical or phone contact with a prospect used to be how MLM was done. "Building Relationships" created stability and security needed to build a residual income. A distributor often will not change companies if they "know" their sponsor. We should stop hiding behind our computers and the internet and return to the core concept of MLM which is building relationships.
In order to survive, the average MLMer must provide the tools important to successful MLM operation to their downline. What this does is create a duplicatable system. If you don't duplicate, you die in this business. More importantly though, it opens up needed extra income streams for the beginner to survive those first few rough months. Do this and you will have a greater chance of success.
The MLM Business is one of the last bastions of entrepreneurship available today. Use the underlying principles of building relationships and duplication and you will succeed.
