Signs and Symptoms of Spongiotic Dermatitis

There are many different skin conditions that you can develop, and every one relating to dry skin can be incredibly difficult to diagnose, mainly just because they are all so similar in appearance and in the symptoms that they cause.

There are a few different types of dermatitis that you can develop, one of the most common and severe being spongiotic dermatitis. It is basically a severe dry skin condition in which areas of the skin begin to look dry, itchy, blistery and flaky, and can be incredibly uncomfortable and even painful, and is definitely affective on one’s self-esteem and confidence.

Signs and Symptoms

The most important thing is that you are aware of the different signs and symptoms of the spongiotic dermatitis condition, so that you will be able to notice them if you ever develop them yourself. There are actually quite a few but several in particular which are especially common, and of which will be discussed in further detail here.

One of the most common symptoms of spongiotic dermatitis is redness, and this is what most people notice first when they develop the condition. A blistering skin rash is typically what comes next, and although they can appear different on everyone, they are very noticeable and often even have liquid inside of them.

You do not want to pop or poke at the blisters, because this will just end up making them even worse. Instead, you want to get in to see your doctor as soon as possible so that they can properly diagnose and assess your condition, and get you on the right treatment path as promptly as they can.

Another of the most common symptoms of spongiotic dermatitis is irritation. Most people describe the spongiotic dermatitis condition as feeling like mosquito bites or even the chicken pox, and so by keeping the skin moisturized, you will be able to relieve this irritation and itching, and this is important because by scratching or even rubbing at the skin you are only going to make it worse.

It is crucial that you keep your doctor informed about your condition and whether it is improving or worsening by the day, because dermatitis conditions in general can grow to become incredibly serious and the only way that your doctor is going to know to find a more serious treatment method for you is if you keep them abreast of the situation and let them know that your current treatment is not working.
