What In The Heck Is Perivascular Dermatitis?

By: Evan Tyler

What Is Perivascular Dermatitis?

Perivascular dermatitis is just your common dermatitis but this one occurs around the blood vessels. This gives it is name perivascular dermatitis because they occur in the perimeter of the blood vessels. Since this is just the same to the ordinary dermatitis conditions, perivascular dermatitis also has a host of factors that aggravate it and also have agents that can control it which are the same or highly similar to those that affects dermatitis.

Some types of dermatitis is said to be caused by a combination of genetics and a particular type of yeast along with triggers to these conditions. Exposure to UVA and UVB is said to inhibit the progression of the yeast that is suspected to cause some cases of dermatitis. On the other hand, a form of dermatitis can also be aggravated by exposure to sunlight. It is best to consult medical practitioners regarding the methods of controlling dermatitis.

Factors That Contribute to Perivascular Dermatitis

Dermatitis has several factors which contribute to its manifestation. Perivascular dermatitis is not an exception to this. It also has the same triggers as any other common dermatitis condition. The factors that can magnify perivascular dermatitis are allergens, irritants and other environmental factors that cause our skin to react to them.

The reason why perivascular dermatitis occurs is not know it is just as complex as other cases of dermatitis. Like the other kinds of dermatitis, it does not occur all the times and disappears pretty soon, only to come back again. We can not really stop this since it is a genetic transmittal and cures for these skin conditions are none existent. We can only hope to manage the effects of the perivascular dermatitis such as inflammation, itchiness, and other symptoms.

Treating Perivascular Dermatitis

Probably the most effective way to prevent dermatitis is to avoid the allergens and irritants that affect you. Many substances and elements present in our common household goods can cause perivascular dermatitis and these can be among the more common household items such as soaps, shampoos, rugs, solvents etc. If you are already aware of your tendency to be sensitive to allergens and irritants, better keep away from them to avoid complications of your health.

Treatments for dermatitis vary according to the specific type of dermatitis you might have. These treatments and remedies range from topical applications of corticosteroids and hydrocortisone on the skin and ketoconazole, tar, selenium sulfide and zinc pyrithione on the scalp to lessen and control flakes and inflammation.
