Dog Training Tips That Might Work

Dog Training Tips That Will Work For All Dogs

There is new scientific evidence that dogs chose to come out of the wild and live with humans, rather than taken from the wild and learned to put up with it. Dogs have chosen to become out companions not only for easier access to food, but for companionship. Dogs want to please. They watch you intensely, waiting for any chance to please you and thus, be rewarded. Then, they fall asleep. But before that, you need to learn how to communicate to your dog. After all of these thousands of years, it’s the least you can do. So, here are some dog training tips that will work for 99.9% of dogs.

Keep Training Sessions Short

Dogs have a limited attention span. If you try to train them all in one day, you will get nowhere fast. All canine experts agree with this most basic of dog training tips – keep the sessions short. You really need no more than a few minutes a few times a day in order to train your dog. Perhaps you could train for ten minutes three times a day – at two mealtimes and during a walk. In addition to this dog training tip, always end the session on a good note, with lots of praise.

A Tired Dog Is An Obedient Dog

If you gave a toddler a whole bag of candy and then asked them to sit down and read a book on quantum mechanics, the kid won’t learn very much. He’ll be too revved up on a sugar high in order to pay attention. This is what a lot of people do with their dogs. They give them masses of food and hardly any exercise. The dog is just too hyper to pay attention. No other dog training tips will work if the dog doesn’t get regular exercise.

The Dog Is Not Out To Get You

No matter how many times the dog digs up the flower beds or chases the cat, you never have to worry about the dog contemplating how to invade Poland. Dogs, amazingly, are not capable of planning and acting out morally evil actions against mankind. If a dog is not training, get the dog checked out by a vet. The dog could have a medical problem (such as deafness) which might be the problem. If you remember only one of these dog training tips, please remember that. No dog is intentionally trying to drive you crazy. You can get there well enough on your own.
