The American Discovery Trail

One of the most explored Colorado hiking trails is the American discovery trail. Located in the eastern plains of Colorado, this path is one of the oldest in the history of this area. Many explorers and pioneers in the past used this trail to reach new lands. At present, this Colorado hiking trail provides a peaceful haven for people who would like to clear their heads and commune with nature. For people who would like to have some great adventures, this trail also provides great challenges to hikers. The Arapaho And Roosevelt National Forests

Located in the north central Colorado area, this forests and grassland is composed of 1.5 million acres. It extends up to the north of the Wyoming border, to the south; it goes up to Interstate 70 towards Mount Evans. From the west, this national forest spans across the Continental Divide going to the Williams Fork area. The great expanse of this national forest teems with so much wild life that if you do decide to visit this plain do some hiking, you will be delighted to see a lot of animal species roaming around.

Since the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests is so huge, it would be a good idea for you to bring along a GPS or a map to avoid getting lost. Note that getting lost is such a huge forest is not fun at all so be prepared.

The Black Canyon Of The Gunnison

One of the challenging and exciting Colorado hiking trails is the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The steep and dark canyons in this area can be quite challenging even to some season hikers. However, the good news is that this place does have plenty of trails to choose from so if you are not prepared to negotiate the more difficult trails, you can always stick with the easy ones.
