Stereo System Common Sense

   By: Sky Hudgins

If you lived through the eighties, you probably remember when the most popular stereo systems were as big as they could be. In fact, most carried them around on their shoulders, even though they were heavy and cumbersome. Today, large systems in the home still exist, though most carry something small like an IPod or portable CD player with them instead of the boom box. You don't have to have something large in your home if you don't want to either, and many are opting to go with powerful, but simple.

If you want a large stereo system in your home or in your car, you can find whatever you need. Some speakers are large, even though there is really no reason for them to be. No one needs a three foot tall speaker in their home for surround sound, but if you want that for effect, you can find them in many places. Most are looking for a smaller stereo system though, and that happen because they don't like the look of them, or they simply do not have a lot of room to have speakers lying around.

You can find smaller speakers to go with your stereo system that will sound just as good, if not better, than the larger ones you may think you have to have. Speakers have come a long way, and size no longer means better quality. If you think about the Bose sound system, you may know what I mean. This is something that looks like a clock radio alarm clock, but has the full sound of a very impressive stereo system. If you really want something small, you may want to check these out before you buy anything else.

Another consideration with a stereo system might be where you live. I know many don't think about this, and many don't care, you do have to think about those around you. If you live in an apartment, you can not have a loud stereo system running all of the time unless you want to be on the most hated list. Try to be considerate and remember that loud does not mean better. Usually having a system at a decent level is when it sounds the best. You may think the loud thumping noise is impressive, but that is usually only the case in a club or a bar. Otherwise, look out for your neighbors, and they will give you the same consideration.
