I have often heard jokes saying that if you see celebrities doing public service announcements that they must have done something wrong. Now, there may be times when this may be the truth, for the most part, they do these out of the goodness of their heart. Though there are many times when celebrities turn me off, I am always grateful when they do public service announcements. In many cases, they are simply a spokesperson, but they are putting out a message that is very important.
Public service announcements are something that you don’t see as much of as you used to. They are still around however, and you may see many of these in short clips before your favorite television shows. In some cases, you may not even be aware of what you just saw. Quite often someone will come on right before the show and give you very brief and quick public service announcements just seconds before a show is to begin. The message is often simple, but can often be quite powerful. You may even find that some of the storylines in your favorite television shows might be considered to be public service messages. Sometimes a subtle yet powerful message is thrown in there without you even realizing it.
I have found that most public service announcements that I have seen recently have involved reading with your children and how to raise their self esteem. There are also some that give out a warning about drinking and driving, or perhaps the dangers of child abuse. These are all important issues, and they all definitely deserve public service announcements to educate the public about the dangers. Though they may get old after a while, there are still people out there who need to hear them. Just because something seems obvious to you, does not mean that it is obvious to everyone else.
If you feel very strongly about a cause, you may want to do some public service announcements of your own. This may involve some of your own money, but if it is something that you believe, and it may be well worth your time. Even though your life may be wonderful, you should know that there are many people out there who are struggling with many things. You never know when public service announcements may make a difference in the life of a person, or even more importantly, a child near you. Sometimes it takes just one person to care to make all the difference in the world.
