Most Flattering Haircuts For Face Shapes

By: The Face Shaper

We will briefly discuss the 5 different face shapes, hair cuts that flatter and cuts to avoid.

-Oval-This is considered to be the best face shape to match a number of different hair cuts. You can have a great cut for your face, irregardless if short, long, straight, or curly. You will look your best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin, no matter the length of your hair. The cuts which are now popular ar bobs, long waves, and shoulder-skimming shags. The celebraties with oval faces Jada Smith, Kate Hudson, And Jessica Alba.

Avoid: Adding short layers that will head to the height of the top of your head. Avoid a blunt cut for thick and curly hair.

-Long or Oblong-You need width. Bangs, particularly, long, side-swept bangs are best. The appearance of width can also be created with chin-length bobs and cuts. Note that curls and waves can also add width.

Avoid: Extremely long or very short cuts.

-Round- Styles that are just below your chin or add a little volume on top. Graduated layers make your face appear slimmer and remove bulk and weight from the sides. Bangs are perfect if you can keep them long or sideswept. Wispy and tapered ends minimize the roundness of face. Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Catherine Zeta-Jones share your round face features.

Avoid: Blunt cuts emphasize your round face and you should avoid this cut.

-Square-You will minimize your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends, do this very well. You can also get the same effect with short, spiky cuts and long, sleek styles that have layers that start at the jawline and continue downward.

Avoid: Cuts that make your square face even squarer. Blunt-cut bangs and one-lenght bobs.

-Heart-This facial feature is demostrated by your pointy chin. You need to draw attention away from your chin and toward your eyes and cheekbones. Utilize sideswept bangs that acts like pointers to your eyes and cheekbones. If you have long hair, go with wavy layers that just touch your cheekbones. Keep top layers soft and long for short hair. Katie Holmes, and Jennifer Lopez share your Heart shaped face.

Avoid: Blunt-cut bangs and harsh, choppy layers.
