Determination - the basic key to getting success
Discouragement and lack of motivation may hinder you from reaching your objectives. You alone can devise techniques that will help keep the fire within.
It is helpful to have visual goals. It may be something material like a car or a vacation you have been looking forward to for the longest time.
Cut out a picture of it and post it at a conspicuous place at work or at home where you can see it often. When you feel discouraged, this will remind you of your goal and will help you keep your focus.
Create a good todo list, that you can continually monitor you progress and keep a check on how far you are from reaching your goals.
Getting your goals written down is mentally more beneficial. In some ways it's like writing a agreement for yourself. The responsibility will be on you to honour the agreement and reward yourself based on your achievements.
In the workplace, a simple pat on the back, "good job", or "thank you" may do the trick to give the person the additional push to carry on. Unfortunately, these may not always be readily available. Considering that these are also essential in keeping oneself motivated, you must learn to find a way to get that encouragement on your own by rewarding yourself.
Get yourself around positive people, learn from them, act like them and copy the positive behaviour. Keep well away from negative people , it will only drag you down. Finally Smile.
Be proactive , get things done and don't procrastinate. Procrastination can stop you dead in your tracks. Don't wait for something to happen, make it happen.
Reading motivational books are good tools to help you keep motivated. Read them ,learn from them and put into practice what you have learned. A good book could give you the push you need to keep going.
Whatever it is that you have been meaning to do or wanting to achieve, JUST DO IT!
