The Lottery NC Education System
by Candy Tyler
The North Carolina governor was instrumental in the creation of a lottery NC education system that would help with school need around the state. It specifically caters to a number of education projects that include the financing of scholarships, the reduction of population per class in school through building projects, and the support of various academic programs. The system was at first questioned by many people but since it has started, North Carolina has learned to move forward with it.
In all essence, the lottery NC education system is a bunch of games made available to the public and proceeds that are made through the sale of lottery tickets and other collaterals are donated to various educational institutions. If someone does win in the lottery, that person will receive about 50% of the actual money that is made of sales. After a few payments made to run the system, about 35% of the proceeds are then donated for educational purposes which usually involve the construction of schools.
How do these tickets get bought? In North Carolina, 5,500 retailers sell the tickets for the lottery NC education project. There are a few games that the public can enjoy and these are scratch-off tickets, games known as the Carolina Pick 3 and Pick 5, Powerball and the Sizzlin' Millionaire Raffle. It's not difficult to find these retailers because they each have signs with the words PLAY HERE on them.
People with tickets will then have to wait and watch a program on TV where all the draws are made for the lottery. The draws are broadcasted live by participating TV stations who are also sponsors of the program. All one has to do is compare the numbers that are drawn to the tickets that were bought.
A winner of the lottery will have 90 full days to collect his or her winnings. The countdown of days starts from the time of the announcement of the winning numbers. For Powerball, the rules are slightly different because 180 days are given to the redeemer because the game can be played online.
What people have to remember about the lottery NC education games is that once they buy a ticket, they have to sign it with their names and addresses. This is to prevent someone else from claiming the prize if he or she finds a lost ticket that contain the winning numbers. There is no record of it happening yet, but it's never been a bad thing to be too safe.
Not everybody can play the lottery NC education game as it is strictly set for those who are 18 years old and above. The tickets can only be bought at the licensed retails outlets as well. This is also true for the game Powerball. Although it is an online game, the tickets for that game must be bought online at the retailers.
North Carolina once was the only State in the East to have the lottery NC education system. It was also never expected to be voted and passed into the law but due to the absence of two opponents if the idea, North Carolina was able to pull it off. However, the lottery NC education system is something that seems to be working for the State after all.
