Saving Space by Deleting Cookies and Temporary Files
by Thomas Haddelin
Often computers, over time, build up a lot of junk off the Internet. Most of the time users don't even realize what is slowing down their computer.
Removing old cookies and other files can dramatically improve your PC's Internet browsing ability. Most websites usually pop up alot faster too.
To empty your cookies using Internet Explorer, simply open IE. At the top of the browsers window you will find Tools.
Left-clicking on this will open the menu. Locate Internet Options and select it.
A window should open with several tabs located at the top of it. Select the General tab located on the far left.
In the middle of this you should see some buttons labeled, Delete Cookies, Delete Files, and Settings. Selecting Delete Cookies should ask if you want to remove the cookies, click yes will actually delete them.
Pictures and files from stuff you installed off the Internet usually left on your computer. Click Delete Files to clean your computer of these files.
To automate this process, click Settings. Set the page frequency, and the space used for the files and you should be good to go for awhile.
Keep your computers speed unrestricted by removing cookies and temporary files often. Make sure to use the settings so your computer runs smoothly.
