Anthony Robbins and His Personal Power Techniques
by Kurt Schmitt
Anthony Robbins is a master motivator and known throughout the world as a peak performance coach. He has worked with top business professionals, professional athletes, and companies the world over.
Tony has opened up and shared his own personal story of success with the world through his seminars, audio and video learning series and books. He is well known for producing results with quick turnarounds. Tony's ability to help people quickly turn around any area of their lives is legendary.
If you didn't know who he was before, you may have seen him in the 2001 comedy movie, Shallow Hal, starring Jack Black. Tony plays himself, as he hypnotizes Jack Black's character into seeing a different view of the world.
What Robbins may be most famous for are his infomercials, offering his Personal Power home audio course. This course may best be described as a complete approach to personal change.
Tony's Personal Power program brings together a number of different techniques in a unique way. Thousands have used his system to definitively change their lives. Since he personally recorded the program, you get the feeling that you've been invited into Tony's inner circle.
During the course, you get to hear Tony describe his techniques along with his personal story. I found this course to be extremely effective. Tony tends to be very animated, and his presence comes through, even in audio. It's an entertaining and results oriented program, but it's very demanding so be prepared.
Motivational speakers and personal development gurus had been around for many years, but when Tony appeared on the scene, he took motivation to a more personal level. His system emphasized speed and results over the traditional, slower therapy methods. At the same time, he also brought his program to the masses.
What used to be reserved for corporations, high powered executives, and the rich, Tony brought to you and me. By tailoring a system that could work for all, yet was individualized to fit each person's circumstances, we were introduced to the concept of a personal life coach, without really even knowing what it was.
Before the Anthony Robbins home course, Personal Power, and its updated version Personal Power 2, many of Tony's techniques were outlined in his books. In Unlimited Power, for example, Tony describes neuro linguistic programming, or NLP, upon which a lot of his techniques are based.
NLP is used as a way of reprogramming your thinking in order create life change. It's focused on results and is a highly flexible, individual system for personal growth.
Tony's NLP based techniques can empower us to take control of our lives and shape our futures. Instead of relying on traditional therapy and advice, Tony explains that if you master the concept of how your brain works, you actually go beyond therapy. By becoming your own therapist and personal consultant, you become able to change any feeling or behavior in just moments.
I recommend you consider Tony's methods and see if they work for you. I think you'll find, as I did, that the convenience of a home audio series is a valuable tool for quick and lasting change.
Anthony Robbins has many loyal followers, as well as many detractors. While his methods are powerful, in my opinion his most powerful methods work best if you're good at visualizing. If not, then you may have to work a little harder in order to get substantial results. If you are looking to make sweeping changes and willing to work for it, then Anthony Robbins and his personal power techniques are for you.
