Life as You Like It
by Roderick Armstrong
David is a manager for a major national discount store. He works 70 hour weeks and when he gets home he is too exhausted to enjoy his family or time of. He's worked for this company for fourteen years and he can't believe that it has been that long. He and his wife Lori have just taken out a second mortgage on their home to help prepare for the twins college education.
David and his wife both drive new Lexus'. Their expenses are tight and it is hard to imagine ever getting out of debt. He started working for his company straight out of college just until he "found what he really wanted" and found himself at the same company 14 years later. It seems as if the twins grew up right around him and he can't even remember when they were younger. It's like whole years of their lives are lost to him. He wants a quick change but doesn't know where to start. He knows other people work from home in MLM or Internet Marketing companies but he doesn't think he can do that. All he knows is working for a job.
Does David's life sound familiar? David's life is a never ending cycle of boredom, struggle and remorse that his life isn't going in the direction that he intended when he was younger. He had dreams to set the world on fire as a teenager and now the highlight of his day is settling onto his couch with his remote control.
I'm not trying to get you down here. I want to help you remember the dreams you had when you knew nothing could stop you. The world was yours for the taking and you were just the one to do it. What kind of legacy are we leaving our children by living a life that we have just grown to accept?
Think about this. We're born full of energy and desire. We're taught that we have to go to college so that we can get a good job. Ok. We graduate from college full of hope and ambitions (and thousands of dollars in debt). We take the only job we can get at the time, get married, hopefully get promoted in our dead end job, have kids, get deeper in debt, get our kids in college, get even deeper in debt, celebrate our kids college graduations (and their newly acquired debt) and then find ourselves further enslaved to jobs we can't stand and wondering how we got in this place and how we are ever going to retire.
Sadly, this is not the life we dreamed of as kids. You are supposed to live life as you like it. What happened? Life happened to us. We are sucked into a vacuum and we only realize it when it's too late to attempt to get back to the lives of our dreams.
Don't despair. It is not too late. This is the moment. You can make a quick change now by the power of decision. That is where the change in your life starts. I encourage you to recapture the life you deserve. Don't give in to intertia. I know you deserve the life of your dreams.
My purpose here is to help you believe. The life above that I described above was mine. If I can make a positive change for my family, so can you. It's possible for anyone who chooses to believe. It's possible for you if you believe.
If you are ready to live life as you like it I am excited to help you. I know life of your dreams is just around the bend. If your are ready to take charge and stomp out loud then give me a call. You are welcome to reprint this article - but get your own unique content version here.
