The Childish Spirit
by A Kasady
Our ghost hunting team had been contacted by a couple who claimed to be suffering from what seemed to a poltergeist in their own home. The couple had moved into the home, in the Midlands, and showed signs of a haunting as soon as they moved in.
Various items had gone missing in the house, noises had been heard at night and doors had been slamming shut by themselves. One thing that had interested the team was what had appeared to be ectoplasm appearing in the skirting boards.
The team first researched the houses' history, however, because this was a relatively new residential property, not much could be found. We did manage to speak to the previous property owners, and they claimed that none of the paranormal activity had occurred while they had been living there. The fact that they had moved out again only a year after they first moved in, suggested they knew more than they were letting on.
The house seemed very calm at first and there was no strange atmosphere at all. We started the investigation in some of the rooms upstairs, but found nothing out of the ordinary. The spare bedroom however showed unusually colt temperature readings on the meter. It was much colder than any of the other rooms in the house that we had investigated.
As we brought Annabel in to do a reading of the property, we heard a noise coming from one of the bedrooms upstairs. Running up there, we found one of the children's toys had fallen from the top shelf. Annabel then came into contact with the energies of a spirit.
Shouting out, we were very surprised to hear what appeared to be a slight scratching noise coming from the skirting board. As soon as we heard it, it stopped. Shouting out again gained no new activity, so we allowed Annabel to proceed.
She claimed that she felt the energies of a short man, around five feet tall and in his mid thirties, in the room with us. He wasn't a malicious spirit, but Annabel could tell that he had suffered from autism. He died when he accidentally fell out of his bedroom window, which was the room we happened to be in. This man had the intelligence much younger than his age. His spirit had found the enjoyment of watching the couple's children at play in the house.
I wanted to spend more attention on the children's playroom, and asked Annabel if she could ask if the ghost would visit us later. She told us that the spirit agreed to stay with us. We set-up or equipment in this room and waited excitedly to see if we could record any evidence.
For a couple of hours we witnessed no paranormal activity, although we did hear a few bumps and clicking noises. Things had quietened down, until one of the team members said that she felt as though she had been touched on the hip.
To be continued.
