10 Power Tips To Get Your Ads Read by Yan Taylor

If you regularly promote a product or service online by emailing a subscriber list or by advertising on message boards and classified ad sites, then you need to build your subject lines intentionally and strategically. Most people will read the subject line of an ad or message before they read the ad or message, so it's imperative for you to make your subject lines draw in your readers. Below are ten simple ways to use subject lines to get your ads read.

1. Use the extra white space in your subject line creatively. For example, you can add extra blank spaces between certain words to draw attention to important details.

2. Change the case of your words. For example, you could try using a capital letter between every other lower case letter, using all capital letters in certain words or combining capital letters with lower case letters.

3. Instead of using only letters, try also using text symbols. For example, you could use symbols between certain words to draw attention to a certain word or phrase. You could also start and finish your subject line with a certain symbol for emphasis.

4. Begin your subject line with the word "STOP!". Most people are conditioned to pause when they see this word, so using it strategically can help to lock your readers in.

5. Ask questions in your subject lines. One of the best ways to hook readers is by asking a question because it gets people in the mode of trying to answer. Also, using a subject line that is a bit off center can get people to read your ad to find the answer.

6. If you are offering freebies to your target audience then you need to use the word "FREE" in your subject line. This works for pretty much anything you want to give away free and tells your readers straight out what your ad is about.

7. Try using a smile within your subject line :). Smiles can be powerful motivators offline and can help gain the attention of people and to win their trust, so why not try them out online? This can set the right mood to get your target audience to your ad.

8. Stay away from unbelievable claims in your subject line. People get ripped off all the time online and it is getting harder to gain the trust of online seekers. Don't use crazy claims or your ad will be largely ignored.

9. Stay away from using all capital letters in every word of your subject line. Doing this will make your subject line hard to read and it will come across as unprofessional. Also, using all caps is considered shouting on the net and that is no way to win over readers.

10. Test, test and test again. Testing different subject lines to see which one gets your ad read and, in the process, draws the most traffic to your website is absolutely necessary if you want your ads to be successful.
