In the "for sale" section, you can make contact with people looking to sell their stuff. The section is broken up into smaller categories to make it easy to find what you're looking for. You can even find small household items, and if you're really fortunate, you might stumble upon exactly what you're looking for in the "free" category. Sometimes people post coupons they don't need in this category, so it pays to check it out every so often just to see if you can get a discount on something you buy frequently.
But still there is something that you should beware of for this money saver. First of all, if you're looking something that is whole brand new and reluctantly to buy second hand goods, you may find the wrong place. Most items that list on CragsList are something no longer used by their owners. If you don't mind whether it's used or not, craigslist is perfectly for you. Secondly, you got to know how to get your purchased items. Are they going to be delivered, shipped, or sellers require you to pick them up by yourself? Figure it out beforehand. The last and foremost is that don't be too dependent to CL, try to compare their prices with other resources. Less expensive but better quality wins the race, of course.
