Is There A Magical Solution To Having Fat Ankles And Fat Legs?

Are you suffering with fat ankles or maybe fat legs? When asked, many men said they thought of a woman's ankles and legs as one of the most erotic parts of her body. You might have heard of men saying they are a leg man or breast man or whatever. But to many women who are not blessed with super model legs, they are a constant source of insecurity.

It can be no real suprise that since the legs and ankles of a woman are the most exposed parts of her body they are also the one part of their body they choose to cover up most. Whilst those women with great legs and happy to wear short dresses and skirts those with fatter legs and ankles will do everything in their power to cover up.

Considering that a large proportion of women are genetically predisposed to having a higher proportion of fat in their legs and ankles, many women constantly try to reduce the fat that is located within their legs and ankles through exercise and diet often with minimal effect.

Unfortunately fat stored in the ankles and and legs is pretty hard to move by diet and exercise alone. This has led to a huge increase in the number of women who look to plastic surgeons for ankle liposuction and leg liposuction for the answer.

So what about Liposuction? It is now a popular procedure according to plastic surgeons and although not cheap costing around $4000 it can be very effective when all other methods have failed. What it involves is the surgeon making a few small incisions around the fatty area of the legs or ankles and removal by the plastic surgeon taking around 6 weeks to recover afterwards.

Like any surgical procedure it carries it's own risks and in addition fat located in the ankles especially and to a lesser extent the legs is relatively superfical as both the ankles and lower leg do not contain deep compartments for fat to accumulate.This means that this form of liposuction can be more tricky than in other areas of the body.

Although losing fat form the ankles and legs may not be as effective as in some other areas of the body it should still not be discounted. Here are a number of ways you might like to try before trying the more radical comsetic surgery options?

-Lower you dietary intake of sugars. Stop drinking regular and diet soda's and having sweet foods and sugar in your drinks and on your food. Use other natural sweetners such as honey as replacements.

-Cover up your legs wear thick tights or socks and when the weather is exceptionally cold maybe leg warmers as well as when very cold wear pants rather than skirts or dresses if they are accepted in your working environment.

-Boost the amount of water you drink. Aim to consume 8-10 glasses of cold or iced water a day.If you drink coffee aim to replace each cup of coffee with an additional glass of water.Water helps detox the body which improves fat breakdown in all areas.

-Add more protein to your diet whilst maintaining still a balanced diet with a reduced fat intake. Although most people don't really understand why it has been shown that an increase in the protein in your diet improves your ability to burn fat.

- One of my favorite but simple exercises which you can do even if you lack much mobility is to put your foot out and rotate for ten revolutions in either direction then repeat with the other foot.

Lets not forger- It could be your ankles are swollen due to fluid retention (more common in older and menopausal women and also pregnant women. If this is the case the doctor may choose to prescribe some water tablets to help the body get rid of excess water.

I am totally confident that these tips should help you in some small way.However I strongly recommend you start a program of weight loss if at all concerned about having fat ankles or fat legs.
