Email Marketing - Esssential 5 Tips to Boost Your Business
by Bernard J. Williams
When setting up a home business online, there are many marketing possibilities to choose from. One good method is email marketing, which has become a fast, easy and effective way of communicating online. If you want a successful home business, you should really consider an email marketing campaign. Email marketing is very popular these days and many companies, whether large or small, use it as an effective technique.
What is Email Marketing?
Email marketing is simply marketing through the use of email. The long version of this definition is that email marketing is the system involved in sending out links to sales letters, websites or newsletters to customers via email. Email marketing generally involves an entire campaign and requires sign up to avoid spam. A double sign up confirmation (sign up on the page, then confirm in an auto responder email) is the best method. Even then, you still need to include a statement at the top of the email reminding the recipient that they signed up for your email. You should also include an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.
1-Get Your List
It is important to do this because when you have created your campaign, you need people to send it to. Your web page needs to grab their interest, make them curious and get them to click that button. You need to be gently persuasive and have a professional looking page to gain their trust. It is a good idea to offer a free ebook, report or course to make them feel they are getting something valuable for free. This material obviously has to be relevant to the topic. Bullet points work well and a box clearly indicating what they will get a free ebook, report or whatever when they join the mailing list.: "enter your name and email address below to get your free 5 day email course".
2- Talking Time
Once you have drawn them in then you need to do some great writing in your email campaign to keep their interest and to remind them of what you are offering. You want to make it as if you were sitting with them at lunch or talking over coffee, making them comfortable with you and your product or service offer. You want to be on the persuasive side, convincing them that you have what they want and need at your site and it is the best that is out there.
3-Give 'em a treat
Offer Something Along with the First Purchase Offering a free gift that is related to the product or service you are promoting can really boost your conversion rates! So why don't you offer something along with their first purchase, or something after their third purchase? Both have their advantages. With the former, you'll expose the client to more of your product, and with the later, you are rewarding their repeat business.
4-Wait
You should wait at least a few days after the customer's first purchase and then email again to tell them about another promotion you are doing. Then send out an email highlighting another special offer or offering a special deal.
5-Remind them special events
Another reason to email is to remind the customer of certain dates. For example, you can email about a week before Valentine's Day to remind them that they need to buy something for their beloved and include a text or picture link to a special offer in your website.
Conclusion
It will take time but eventually you should have a good list, perhaps up to 1000 customers or even more. If you build your email marketing campaign in a good way, keeping the customers informed and interested without flooding them with too much information, you should be successful. Too many emails is a bad idea but the occasional reminder or special offer works well.
