Old Radio Shows Are Still Being Broadcast |

I used to commute to work for an hour each way. I do not mind driving, however it was had to be away from home for two additional hours everyday. I was allowed to work four ten hour days so I did not have to make the long trip as often, but this meant I was away from home for twelve hours everyday. By time I got home I would make dinner, cleanup the kitchen and go to bed so I could repeat the process the next day. After five years of sticking to this scheduled I was able to locate a job that is ten minutes from our house. This has been wonderful, my evenings are longer and I am able to resume some of my craft projects and gardening, which I did not have the time or energy to do when I had the long commute.
One thing that I have missed with my shortened drive is listening to the crazy morning show on a metro radio station. I used to listen to the show for an hour each morning and felt as if I knew the announcers. They did some crazy bits and made me laugh most of my way to work. I was mentioning this to one of my new co-workers. He told me that you can download old radio shows from the internet. He said that the old radio shows go back to classic bits and as recent as yesterdays show. He moved to our area from another state. He misses one of the programs that he used to listen to each morning. He said that there are times he will listen to it live over the internet and other times he goes back and downloads the old radio shows so he can catch up on news and events from his home state. He gave me the website to look up.
One Saturday morning I decided to see if I could find the website. In looking around on the internet I found that I could download some of the classic bits that were done on old radio shows from the station I had listened to. I also discovered that on Saturday mornings they replayed the best interviews and skits from the prior week. I was able to listen to the best of the morning show while I was doing my Saturday morning chores. This was a great find. I had been telling my husband about different bits this radio station has done in the past and now I can pull them up for him to hear for himself.
