Enhance Your Trips Abroad

Whether you are a new travel enthusiasts or old pro, you can never stop learning better ways to enhance your experience. Following are some of the things I have learned over many trips.
1. Street Food ? Ah, who doesn't love trying the mystery food on a stick? Well, the mystery can land you in bed or the bathroom for a few days. Be careful, particularly if you've also been trying the local alcoholic beverages.
2. American Express Mail ? If you have an American Express card, you are one lucky devil. You can have your mail sent to any American Express office in the world. Just hop over and pick it up.
3. Traveler Fanny Packs ? Fanny packs are a very popular option for holding important documents such as money, passports and so on. They also stick out like a target to thieves and pickpockets. Don't wear them.
4. Garbage Bag Pants ? Despite it being roasting in the summer, many historical sites will require you to wear pants to enter. You can usually rent garbage bag pants around these areas. They look like pants, but are made of the garbage bag material.
5. Russia, Friends and Vodka ? Russia is a great place to visit. The people are friendly and vodka drinking is very common. Have fun, but use your common sense. Some Russians are simply too friendly if you know what I mean.
6. Rubber Bottom Backpacks ? If you are going to do some backpacking across a region, make sure to buy a backpack with a hard rubber bottom. It prevents rips and such when you set the pack down, which you will do often.
7. Sweet Sorrow Traveling ? If you are on a long trip, you will inevitably get tired of those traveling with you. To avoid this, go solo and hookup with others through hostels and such. When you get sick of them, move along.
8. Solo Travelers and Hostels ? If you are traveling by yourself, you may eventually need some social time with other travelers. Hostels are the place to get it.
9. Kids and Trip Planning ? Do not plan a trip without getting your kids input if you are taking them. If they are not involved, they will complain endlessly. If they are, they will be more open minded.
10. Keep Kids Interested ? Kids get bored when traveling from one destination to another. Video games are annoying to those around you, so try something else to keep them interested. A Nomad Travel Journal is a great idea.
Ultimately, we all find different things in our trips. Whatever your preference, you can only get it by jumping out there and going. Don't procrastinate, just go.
