In Defense of Art Reproductions
by Arthur Kimmelman.
How do you define, or for that matter, explain what is art? Art is the deliberate use of some medium to communicate emotions or ideas between minds. Art could be in various forms such as paintings, music, dance, sculpture or any form that requires creativity and oodles of imagination. An artwork is subject to interpretation and the quality is determined based on effective communication of the underlying message, idea or thought clearly.
Great artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, and Michelangelo have created immortal works of art that are not only breathtakingly beautiful but enhance a sense of aesthetics in the viewer as well. They are known for their dazzling creative ability and inimitable genius. However, not everyone gets a chance to see their masterpieces. Therefore, the need for art reproductions was felt. Art reproductions are an effort to replicate the brilliant artwork, without taking away the original artist's imagination which remains his/her intellectual property. Art reproductions are an effort to make great artworks accessible to a wider audience and to preserve them for posterity.
Oil Reproductions
Oil reproductions are handmade oil paintings on canvas. Skilled artists creatively add color and texture to highlight the essence of the subject, as required.
Van Gogh Reproductions
Van Gogh was an exceptional artist. He had an original way of working. He would draw the outlines with charcoal in the evening and complete a painting in a day. He drew what he saw without changing anything, least of all the colors. The artists reproducing his works are using the same working methods, techniques and materials used by Van Gogh. They have the momentous task of reproducing Van Gogh's very powerful paintings that are in great harmony. These artists have to study the color compositions, materials, textures and every single detail adopted by the great artist. Only then can they create authentic reproductions of his work.
Picasso Reproductions
Picasso reproductions are mainly of his nude portraits, love scenes, heterogeneous couples, self-portraits, and cloak and dagger masquerades. The Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso has left a deluge of artwork comprising paintings in big-format, etching, drawing, and even sculpture. He used to take almost the same amount of time on each work. No wonder, he created so profusely. His drawings and the prints reflect precise detail and sharp contours, while his paintings had rapid execution and suspension of form.
Framed Art
Although art in any form adds a classic touch to your home, framed art plays a pivotal role in adding a personal touch in decorating homes. It blends with the surroundings and enhances the beauty of the home and office. People use framed art to define their private space according to their preferences and taste.
You can customize framed art to suit the ambience of your homes. It helps to set the tone and adds a touch of class, elegance and lends aesthetic value to the surroundings.
The greatest advantage of art reproductions is that art is no longer the sole prerogative of the rich and powerful. Now, art can be enjoyed by the common man as well even though in reproductions. The various forms of art like reproductions, framed art and many other customized versions have brought beauty, elegance and style in every aspect of life.
?Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder?, literally!
