Almost anyone with pets finds the need to pamper them just a bit. Though cats and dogs can sleep just about anywhere they want, they will sleep in animal bedding if they are given the choice. Dogs are more likely to do so, but both of my cats will sleep in the bedding I got for them on occasion. These things are made just for the comfort of the animal, and I’m not sure how they know they are made just for them, but they seem to figure it out rather quickly.
The most common animal bedding is a small bed that has a ring around it. This keep the animals warm when the curl up in it, and they seem to love it. Some dog owners that have larger dogs will buy a very large flat pillow made just for this purpose. When buying these, size is not all that matters. They should be easy to clean and they should be something that is not easily destroyed. Dogs love to play, but they don’t always know when they are ripping into the wrong thing.
When it comes to larger animals, this can be a bigger problem. Most animal bedding used for horses is hay, and it does work rather well. However, some people like to use newspaper or other materials when the weather is really cold. Large animals in warm climates don’t need much warmth, but they do need to have a soft place to rest. Those purchasing these animals for the very first time should put some consideration into what type of animal bedding they get to ensure the happiness of their new pet.
For those with a little more money, there are some amazing types of animal bedding out there. There are small beds that look just like human beds, but they are made just the right size for a small dog or a cat. These can be a lot of fun if you have the money to spend and the room to keep it in your home. Animals have an amazing ability to sleep almost anywhere, but that does not mean that they have to. Pampering our pets makes us feel good, so don’t feel guilty about doing so. They may have just as much fun with their new animal bedding as you do. Your cat might not appreciate a canopy bed just for them, or your dog may not understand their bedding is made with down rather than manufactured fibers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get what you want for them.
