Information About People With Today's Technology

By: Lane Klein

We currently live in the wonderful age of technology galore. Let me tell you, if you plan on hiding out somewhere, it had better be underground or on a different planet. Chances are if you're anywhere on God's green earth, someone will be able to locate you if they choose to. There are all sorts of information about people in cyberspace. Net-land is loaded with phone numbers, addresses, birthdates and more. While this can be an awesome attribute to have at your disposal, it can also be somewhat of a burden to some individuals, who don't care to have their personal information discovered. Yes indeed, the Internet age has opened countless doors and leaves little to the imagination. Who are you looking for these days?

I am one of those people who take full advantage of cyberspace technology. Personally I think it's outstanding that so much data can be pinpointed on the web, from your very own PC or Mac. Anyone with Internet access can sit in the privacy of their own home and look up information about people. Maybe you want to know what your neighbor has been up to over the years. With his/her name, you can easily find out phone numbers, past addresses, and any criminal records you please. This brings me to an excellent point regarding information about people. Some info should be easily accessible. Most adults, and especially parents, want to know if any registered sex offenders are living in their subdivision, neighborhood or community. In this day and age, this is one of the first things many relocating families look at. Are their sexual deviants lurking nearby? This factor can affect the sale or purchase of a home. Good thing our government has made some crucial information about people available to the public at large. It's our right to know.

You may or may not be crazy about the availability of your personal information on the web. However, it's not like anyone has your social security number, driver's license number or bank account info. Most information about people found on the web merely has to do with location and how to contact them. You just may require this info in the future in order to find one of your old buddies or acquaintances. Be thankful for today's superb technology.
