Snowboard Companies Of Excellence

By: Sky Hudgins

It’s hard to believe that snowboarding is less than half a century old and yet in that short amount of time over one hundred snowboard companies have opened their doors embracing this new sporting phenomenon. If you ask an ardent fan of snowboarding who their favorite snowboard companies are, they are likely to list at least five to ten different companies, each one unique and offering their own style and culture.

Many snowboard companies will offer all the paraphernalia of the sport such as the snowboards, layers of clothing, accessories, snowboard boots and even the bindings while others specialize in only snowboards. There are a number of industry leaders in the field of snowboarding that go above and beyond in providing the best equipment at the highest quality. There are three snowboard companies that make the most waves and they are Burton Snowboards, K2 Snowboarding and up and comer CAPiTA.

Burton Snowboards

Among the snowboard companies, Burton is the one of the older and also one of the first to start coming up with more refined, specialized boards. Burton Snowboards puts great stock in research and development to stay ahead of the other companies. The company’s base is in Vermont but they have worldwide operations in such places like Japan and Austria, countries known for some great snowboarding conditions. The snowboarding team at Burton is one of the best in the world.

K2 Snowboarding

For about twenty years, K2 has continually contributed some great technologically advanced boards to the sport of snowboarding. They are set the stage for some of the best innovations among snowboard companies such as a snowboard with hybrid construction and even the Gyrator, the first board with cap construction. With snowboards resplendent with sidewalls, tail and cap tip the boards from K2 look pretty hot.

CAPiTa

Only a few years out of the starting gate, CAPiTA has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of snowboarding. Founded in the year 2000, this relative newcomer in the world of snowboard companies already has a winning snowboarding team. The company founder Blue Montgomery uses the work of world-renowned photographers to create totally unique snowboards that not only captive the eye but also the competitive world of snowboarding.

When it comes to snowboarding, there is quite a few that offer some great gear from the snowboards all the way down to the goggles. The three snowboard companies listed above are but a few of many that lead the pack to make snowboarding the fastest rising star in the world of sports.
