There is considerable difference of opinion with regard to what is the best snowboard box materials though some people find that stainless steel would be ideally suited as it is not only a strong material, but is also hardwearing and well suited for your snowboard box material. However, even though it works well, be sure to have enough funds to spare as they can be quite costly, though one way around would be using old catering tables that can be cut up to provide the required snowboard box materials. Another wonderful option available to you would be using a material that is known as Foamalux which is strong, UV stable as well as is easy for machining, though once again you have to have enough money to purchase the material.
Storm Drains And Plexi Materials
Some people even suggest using storm drains for snowboard box materials, especially the black drains that are so commonly seen around the side of roads and which are usually found being used as park features in North America, and another source for snowboard box materials would be trying construction site as well as ice hockey and skating rings because there are usually sheets lying about that can do the trick for you. Also, at the ice skating ring, there are many board and also plexi materials that have to be replaced very often that can be used as snowboard box materials, and all you need to do is get friendly with the people that do the work around these places, and you should not have any difficulty in getting these materials without even having to pay for them.
It is even possible to use wood for snowboard box materials along with polyethylene sheet to cover it up with, though the polyethylene sheets are a bit expensive as compared with the wood, and then all you need is the right measurements and having a sheet that is thick enough so that it can be drilled through without ending up splitting it. In the end, the sheet can be drilled to make anything which makes it quite useful as well.
Another option open to you is to try and make a fiberglass snowboard box that is contoured just like a snowboard’s shape that will open on the hinges with an internal height of five inches that will easily house a snowboard, though you can increase the height if you are thinking of putting in more than one snowboard and for storing anywhere from three to four boards you may need to have an internal height of six to twelve inches.
