Finding Upcoming Concerts

   By: Rory Francis

It seems strange to say, but the more that technology takes off, the harder it is to find good information about upcoming concerts. It used to be that you could listen to the radio station and find all of the upcoming concert information that you needed announced every day at the same time and place. The same station would talk about upcoming jazz concerts, upcoming rock 'n roll, and anything else you might want to hear about. Nowadays, however, there are so many promotion companies working so hard to promote their own upcoming concert events that you have to look all over. Two newspapers, in fact, will have different upcoming concert listings.

Buying upcoming concert tickets is even more complex. Basically, for almost all upcoming concerts, there will be at least two or three different places you can buy the tickets. You can order them from Ticketmaster, of course, or whatever other distribution company has them. You can also typically buy them at a record store, sometimes at a discount rate. Then there is the Internet option. Tickets for upcoming concerts may cost more or less depending on how the website is run. Finding cheap tickets for upcoming concerts can be a headache and a half!

Of course, all this is worth it once the upcoming summer concerts are announced. I have been looking at all of my favorite bands for upcoming tour dates, and it looks like it will be a good summer! Then again, it is always a good summer! There's nothing more joyous than going to an outdoor venue and listening to great music while partying with great people. Although the upcoming concerts are more expensive than they used to be, they're still worth it. I have as much fun as I have ever had at outdoor concert venues.

Now that I have kids, however, I have to choose my upcoming concerts more carefully. I go to less upcoming rap concerts than I used to, for example. Every once in awhile, I will still go to a concert that is not really kid friendly. Most of the time, however, I like to go to upcoming kids concerts. That way, I can enjoy the music and spend time with my children at the same time. Many of my favorite bands have upcoming concerts that are child friendly. They may have a song or two that will have some adult content in it, but usually it goes over the kids heads.
