Glow In The Dark Frisbee For Your Dog

By: Jessie Geralds

My dog absolutely adores the glow in the dark frisbee that I bought for him. It is strange, because he does not particularly care for any other glow-in-the-dark playthings. There are glow in the dark stars on the walls of the house, and we have glow necklaces at the Fourth of July parties that we throw, but he has never particularly bothered about them. The glow in the dark frisbee, however, he cannot get enough of. He will chase it all night.

The funny thing about playing with the glow in the dark frisbee is that he only seems to care about it at night. During the day, I can never get old Bernard to chase a frisbee. He has always been a dog of his own mind. Although he loves me and my whole family, he has never been one for following orders. Most dogs do not need glow in the dark frisbees to get them to play catch – particularly most German shepherds. Nonetheless, Bernard cannot be bothered unless something fascinates him. And the glow in the dark frisbee definitely fascinates him!

You should just see how he chases after that glow in the dark frisbee. It really is a sight to behold! I can send it as far as I want – and I have gotten pretty proficient at throwing it in the last couple years – and he will run after it and catch it. I don't know how he can do it. The glow in the dark frisbee does not glow all that brightly, but he still can see it at night. It really is a mystery to me, but I love to play catch with him.

The only problem is that sometimes we spook people with the glow in the dark frisbees catch game. You see, there is nothing more frightening than a barely visible disk flying at you at high velocity – well, nothing more frightening besides a big German shepherd bounding after it. The park where I play catch with the glow in the dark frisbee is pretty dark at night. Technically, we are not supposed to be in it after nightfall, but no one really cares. Nonetheless, the glow in the dark frisbee has scared more than one passerby. Usually we just laugh it off, but one woman got really scared. I think she even called the cops on me, because I saw them driving up to the park after I had left.
