Download Mozilla Firefox For Better Surfing

By: Jean Houston

Few people bother to download Web browsers. After all, if you use Microsoft Windows, you probably already have Internet Explorer. Nonetheless, you might want to think about downloading Mozilla. When you download Mozilla Firefox, you are taking a stand for free software and using the best product out there. I know. I used to use Internet Explorer and, before that, I used Netscape. Of all the mainstream web browsers, I think that Firefox is the best.

I was skeptical when I was first told I should download Mozilla open source software. I could not understand the concept. This is supposed to be good software, and yet people were getting together to make it for free? It didn't make sense to me! I don't know a lot about programming, but I know enough to know that it takes some time. I could not imagine that people could make good software as a hobby. I was so afraid of getting a virus that I almost decided not to download Mozilla.

I guess I underestimated the software programming community. The moment you download Firefox, it is clear that You're getting something professional. The website is sleek and well-designed, the downloading instructions are easy, and the auto-install works flawlessly. In most respects, Firefox is about the same as Internet Explorer, but it seems to work a little bit better. It has fewer security holes, and they are fixed much more quickly. It is also more stable – at least in my experience. What makes Firefox really cool, however, is all the Mozilla downloads available. Basically, anyone who wants to can write an application for Mozilla Foxfire. That means that there are some pretty interesting applications out there. I downloaded Mozilla ad blocker just the other day, and it works wonderfully. It is the only web browser ad blocker I have ever used that really seems to work. It completely blocks pop-ups, embedded advertisements, and web banners. Although it occasionally blocks some content that you want, for the most part it works very well.

When you download Mozilla applications, you are almost always going to be happy with the results. I got another Mozilla download called “Down Them All” the other day that is really neat. It allows you to download all of the images, links, or files in a web page. This is much easier than clicking and saving a hundred times.
