You want to know what's great about today? There are so many little conveniences and technology upgrades. Everything just continues to shrink. I love this! How can you not appreciate your tiny cell phone, three pound laptop, or pocket sized PDA? These are the tools that make our post-modern world so simple to maneuver through. After having them for even a year, I don't know how I'd manage without them. One of my favorites concern self-defense. There are so many tools and devices available for self-defense today. Now, I do realize that some folks are for this, some are against it, and the rest are probably on the fence. Personally I encourage such devices as the pepper pen and Mace. These products could end up saving your life one day. It's a simple safety measure.
No one is generally around to save you! I reinforce this notion with my wife and teenage daughter. I feel that we're all on our own out there in the big, harsh world. Sure, there are law enforcement officers, security guards and other officials, but do you really expect them to be around every time you're in danger. That's not plausible! Although I respect our country's law enforcement, I know that they cannot be everywhere at once. In turn, this calls for such measures as the pepper pen, tazer gun, knife, or firearm. These tools are not to be used to hurt anyone, but only to defend one's life or the life of their family. That's the rule of the game. A compact can of pepper spray is for a woman, who is strolling to her car after a late night at the office. She can walk with it clenched in her palm and ready to go. If she stays away of her surroundings and walks with confidence, she should be fine. But put the same woman in her place with no Mace product or pepper pen. She may lack the feeling of security. Not to mention the same level of power to incapacitate her attacker. Of course this is based on the notion that she will be attacked. But, again it's better to be safe than sorry. Keep that pepper pen in your hand just in case you need it.
We disguise our weapons now days. This is practical for the everyday civilian. Items such as the pepper pen go undetected, because they simply resemble a basic writing tool. This should be a warning to all you criminals out there. You never know what folks are packing.
