Alcohol Abuse On A College Campus

The consumption of alcohol on college campuses varies widely from one campus to another. There are some colleges that do not tolerate any alcohol abuse on the college campus, and these colleges often expel students because of a first offense. Other colleges are more tolerant and these colleges might not expel a student on a first offense. Alcohol abuse on a college campus is usually illegal. The people who drink any kind of alcohol on the college campus could be violating the school rules and the laws of the city or state as well.

Alcohol abuse on a college campus can lead to many serious consequences. Students are supposed to be on a college campus to get an education. Students away from home for the first time to get an education often find many others who are drinking on the campus. Some of these people do not act responsibly, and they end up with bad grades because their studies are neglected for the parties. These students could be wasting their time and their money because of alcohol abuse on a college campus. The money paid for a semester in college is usually a substantial amount.

Alcohol Abuse On A College Campus Could Have Serious Consequences

Many students end up in a hospital or a morgue because of alcohol abuse on a college campus. Every year there are instances when students drink too much or too often and end up sick or dead. Alcohol poisoning can be the result of too much drinking, and there are instances of students with alcohol poisoning every year. The students are so young that these incidents are usually very sad. Other students are affected by other incidents that are directly related to alcohol abuse on a college campus. Students might fall or drive when intoxicated.

There are often tragic stories of dead teenagers who drove a car after drinking too much with other students. Young people often get caught up in the excitement of college activities and drink to enjoy life with their friends. Many do not realize that their abilities are impaired by alcohol, and they kill themselves and others while intoxicated. Some students who act responsibly end up victims of others who drink alcohol. Their stories are usually even sadder because they are injured by other students with less good judgment. Statistics show that many of the serious incidents on a college campus are caused by students who are drinking excessively and irresponsibly.
