Volleyball Shoes For Comfort And Stability

Most sports have a uniform and certain things that are essential when playing. Volleyball is pretty straight forward when it comes to gear, and most have a set of shorts and t shirt that they wear while playing. Many have kneepads in the event they have to dive for a ball, but not everyone wears them. Probably the most important thing to consider when buying for this sport is the volleyball shoes. They have to be just right for the sake of comfort and stability.

Good volleyball shoes are much like the ones you would choose for running. They should have good arch support, and should have secure lacings and a sturdy design. Though there are many brands that will do, it is best to spend more when buying volleyball shoes. Cheap shoes are not going to hold up well and they may even cause falls and injuries. If money is an issue, make sure your child only uses them when they are practicing or playing, and have something else for other times. They way they stay in good shape and won’t have to be replaced too quickly.

Another important aspect of volleyball shoes is how well the sole will grip the floor. Most children in school play volleyball indoors, at least where I live. They should have sneakers that allow them to stop quickly and stick, and ones that will not slip when they may make a quick or awkward motion. Those playing this sport have to be fast and they have to be able to move quickly in any direction. Good volleyball shoes might be like basketball shoes in that respect.

For the most part, volleyball shoes won’t need too much care, but they may need to be cleaned on occasion. I have always used some dish soap and warm water to wipe the surface of my daughter’s sneakers and this usually cleans them up rather well. If there is a stubborn scuff mark on the volleyball shoes, a soft bristled toothbrush might take it off if the material has not been ripped. Other than that, they probably won’t need much care. Just remember to have your child break them in a bit during practice time before wearing them in a game. If the backs are very stiff, they may get blisters. If that has to happen, it is much better to have it happen during practice instead of in the middle of a very important game.
