Jack Johnson Tickets For Those Who Like Acoustic Music

By: Alex Richardson

For those who like acoustic music and well-crafted songs, Jack Johnson has been a welcome addition to the music scene. Born in Hawaii, Johnson was a professional surfer until a serious accident caused his retirement from the sport. He then focused on his other passion and pursued music as a career, making an impressive debut album called Brushfire Fairytales in 2001. He promoted the record by touring with fellow singer songwriter, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson tickets became hot property.

Johnson established a reputation as a great live performer and has toured extensively in support of his record releases. In 2003, the follow up album was released, titled On and On and the In Between Dreams album came two years later. There are two DVDs of landmark concerts available, capturing Johnson's live work and presenting interviews and behind the scenes footage. One of these is Jack Johnson: Live in Japan and the other is Jack Johnson: A Weekend at the Greek.

A truly international artist, Jack Johnson tickets are soon snapped up and are highly prized in Japan. The Japanese featured concert was recorded in 2004 with Johnson's original three piece band and guest artists. A Weekend at the Greek refers to the concert in 2005 at the prestigious Greek Theatre in Berkeley. This venue was included on the In Between Dreams tour and also features guest appearances.

Johnson is well known for supporting charity and political causes and he participated in the Live Earth concert in Sydney, Australia on July 7 2007. This was part of a series of concerts that took place on all seven continents, organized by ex-Vice President Al Gore to raise awareness of global warming. As with Jack Johnson tickets, tickets for these events sold very quickly, involving over 150 different artists and broadcasting to countries across the world. The Sydney concert also included Crowded House and Toni Collette and the Finish.

The third annual Kokua Festival took place in April 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii with Johnson sharing the bill with Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam frontman), Ernie Cruz Jr, Matt Costa and The Girlas. Proceeds from the show go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, which Johnson co-founded to support environmental projects. This is a very popular event and Jack Johnson ticket hunters took part in an online ticket auction to try to secure one. As usual, it was a complete sell out and raised much needed funds for the charity.
