Name Search Is Now An Effortless Process

By: Kai LeBerge

Curiosity stuck me the other day when I was checking my email account. I spotted one of those standard pitches from Classmates.com. Of course they want me to join their membership program and fork out so much per month in order to get in touch with old classmates from high school. Do I want to do this? Heck no! I'm not paying some monthly fee to view pictures of old classmates and pick up an email or two. Why should I? And since when was high school that great anyway? There really aren't too many folks I'd want to get back in touch with. Furthermore, there is an easier way to go about this. If I'm looking to find the current address or phone number of an old high school or college acquaintance, all I really have to do is a routine name search on the web. Anyone can do it!

Try a name search online using your name. It's a surreal experience to say the least. I did this not long ago on a free name search database and discovered that there are plenty of me around. Naturally once I entered my full name, with middle initial, it seriously narrowed the search. It was easy to pinpoint myself since I know my previous and current addresses. The same goes for past classmates. Let me toss you an example. If you graduated from some small town in Ohio, it won't be too difficult to pinpoint the past address of that high school classmate you're seeking. So when several names pop up under a name search, all you have to do is glance at the previous addresses. Chances are several of them didn't live in your home town. I've found two high school buddies this way. And while I ended up with over a hundred search results for their names, I instantly narrowed the search with their past address. Obviously some of the more common names will produce more results than others.

It's actually quite frightening how any of us can be tracked down with an online name search. To think that any fool with a PC and Internet access can hop online and find us in no time flat. In all honesty, there really is nowhere to hide in this day and age. Anyway, if you're searching for a long lost acquaintance, I suggest you get online and do a simple name search now. It's an effortless process.
