Pay As You Go Mobile Phones - Consider Price, Network, And Terms

By: Spencer McNight

It seems as if everyone in the world has a mobile phone now. Of course, that is silly, but there are many times when you think that you cannot get away from them. If you have yet to be annoyed with a ringing phone while at a movie, in a restaurant, or during any other special occasion, then you must not get out very much. I am one of those people that resisted getting one for a long time, but when I began traveling a lot with my daughter I knew it was time to get one for safety’s sake. I decide to go with the pay as you go mobile phones and I could not be happier.

I decided to go with the pay as you go mobile phones because I knew I would not be using it enough to justify paying for a monthly contract. I knew that paying that much a month was a waste of money for me. I love that I can pay 15 dollars a month for pay as you go mobile phones on a regular basis, but if I need to buy more minutes, they are as close as my local store. I can buy as little or as much as I want to, and I am not under any sort of contract.

Most companies now offer pay as you go mobile phones. If you are considering getting one of these, make sure you find out about coverage area, rate per minute, cost of text messages and pictures (if applicable), and if there are any hidden fees. When I looked at pay as you go mobile phones, my decision relied heavily on coverage area. I only had one really good option in that department, so that made my decision for me. Luckily, the company I went with for that reason also had great rates that have remained reasonable for the two years that I have had my phone.

If you don’t have to use your phone very often, and just want to have it around for emergencies and travel, I would recommend pay as you go mobile phones. These are also great for your teenagers, as it makes them keep track of their own minutes, and you know they cannot run up your bill. You may also want to get pay as you go mobile phones if you travel a lot, but don’t think you will use your phone much otherwise. Though you don’t get a lot of freebies with this type of phone, you may find that you are in more in control of your spending, and you will love that you only have to pay for what you use.
