New bands often have the same problem. They play and rehearse, but they don’t know how to get people in the door. They may not have heard of you, but if you have a clip of your music online where they can find it, they may just show up to hear it live. Knowing how to promote your music online is much easier than it was before. Now that Myspace and YouTube are very popular, you just have to get your music on there. Someone will find you.
Offline, it might cost more money when deciding how to promote your music. Most bands have success with recording an album, but not everyone has that much money. Instead, record one song, and burn some single CDs to give away at shows. This will be a loss of sorts, but in the end it will be a gain. One person will play the CD for another person, and that person will play it for someone else, and well, you get the picture. After doing this once or twice, most bands find their crowds are increasing and they are making more money.
