When I was a kid, bicycle accessories were a simple matter. I would stick cards in the spokes to make it click as they went around, buy new lights that shined brighter, or paint the bike in a variety of different colors. The problem is that well made bikes can cost a fortune. If you get a bike made to entry-level specs by the bicycle manufacturer, you can get one that works pretty well for 200 or 300 dollars. The top-of-the-line bikes, however, cost as much as 10 times as much. Before you buy a bike like that, you had better be sure that you are going to use it a lot. Otherwise, you are simply wasting your money. The other problem with buying a high-end bicycle manufacturer bike Is that it is much more likely to be stolen. People will steal Any bicycle accessory they can find off of it even if they can't actually swipe the frame. You had better be careful with your new bike!
