Yesterday was a bright and sunny spring masterpiece. The neighborhood lawns are green, the sun was warm, and you could smell the fresh cut grass as the birds sang an afternoon tune. I suppose you can't beat such an atmosphere. We all love to lounge and relax in such serenity. However, surroundings like this almost allow you to forget about the dangers that lurk amongst us all. As I stepped indoors to place the mail on the table, my 8 year old daughter came dashing in a mere minute later. She said some man on a motorcycle had offered her and the neighbor girl a ride. They said NO and took off. I was really glad my daughter responded the way she did. This is what I've been teaching her. Naturally when I stepped outdoors, the man on the motorcycle was gone. That's how it generally works. But as you noticed I was just outdoors myself and he wasn't there. This is how fast these things happen. Weirdoes and sex offenders will strike at any opportune time. This guy may have spotted me go indoors and leapt at the chance. In reality there is no 100 percent safe. However, this doesn't mean you can't prepare yourself. Use your computer to access arrest records!
We all have the power to bring up local and national arrest records. All you need to do this is a computer and Internet access. The state and federal governments has deemed this our right. Ever since Megan's Law was put into full effect, we've had more access than ever before. This is a wonderful thing. Consider it a weapon against registered sex offenders. Countless unsavory individuals are added to the Internet arrest records database all the time. This allows you to really keep an eye on your town, city, or general area. And that's exactly what I do. I want to know what sex offenders are living in my neighborhood, or even within 10 miles of my home. I demand to know their names and what they look like. And so should you. Especially if you have children of your own.
Hop online and check out the websites Intellicorp.net or 24data.org in order to find arrest records that apply to your area. There just may be registered sex offenders living in your subdivision or on your street. I'm certain you'd want to know if there were. Take advantage of the 24/7 access we have now days. It just could possibly save a child.
