I have to be frank about something. When it comes to pregnancy, I'm a bit sensitive to the topic. I just can't fathom why there are so many unwanted pregnancies every year. And this is not just an American thing. It's going on around the globe. Girls of all ages are getting pregnant for stupid reasons. The most common reason concerning lack of birth control. Now, what do you think happens to all of these unwanted babies? The parents aren't going to care for them. Half of them aren't even prepared or equipped to. Some will have abortions and others will put the infants up for adoption. This is why we have so many children waiting for adoption now days. It's certainly reached a dismal point.
What most people don't realize is the dream of foster parents can be more like a nightmare in reality. Far too many "foster parents" adopt children in order to receive government funds. This is depressing, and says a lot about some of the less than stellar individuals we share a planet with. People are only looking out for themselves. It clearly shows in the number of children waiting for adoption right now. There is no way all of these children will find a home with loving parents to take care of them. That's just not realistic. It's high time irresponsible individuals stopped having casual sex when their not ready to reproduce.
Abortion is such a sad alternative. It's difficult for most of us to ponder the notion of stopping a life before it starts. However, I sometimes feel that it is for the best. Since there are countless children waiting for adoption all over the world, you can't help but wonder if it makes sense not to bring particular ones into the picture. For example, if a woman is raped, should she really give birth to the child? It's hard to say, and every incident is different. I just can't imagine what it would be like for a woman to carry that reminder around for nine months. Now if we're referring to a couple that accidentally got pregnant because they weren't careful, then that's a different story. In the end one thing is for certain. Not all children waiting for adoption will find the home they deserve.
