Though I believe there are things that aren’t easily explained away, I often have trouble with those who give themselves the title of fortune teller. I know there are those who have abilities that I don’t have, and that’s not the issue. The issues I have is that anyone can say they can see into the future or give you and answer to your pressing questions, but there is no way to know if they know what they are talking about, or if they are just out to earn some money off of people’s hopes, dreams, and fears. They can be fun though, and if you don’t take it too seriously, you can have a good time getting a reading.
I once had a friend who based her entire future on a fortune teller, and she wound up miserable and dejected. It was painful to watch really, and I wish that she had thought twice about listening to a stranger. My friend wasn’t even there when the fortune teller spun her tail. Some of her other friends took one of her earrings to the women, and she said she could see what was going on just from holding on to that earrings. It was a sad turn of events that snowballed into a lot of pain for her.
At the time this fortune teller gave her predictions, my friend was fighting with the urge to quit school and run home to a guy that may or may not have been in love with her. She was a single mom, and she was trying to make a better life for herself. The fortune teller told her that the guy was madly in love with her, but he was going to die soon, and that she needed to be with him in his final months of life. I was flabbergasted to hear what this so called fortune teller had said, and even more upset when my friend thought it was the solid truth.
Upon the word of the fortune teller, my friend quit school and moved home. The guy rejected her, laughed in her face, and he is still very much alive to this day. She ended up being miserable and alone for a long time, and has since married. However, that marriage has never worked well, and she regrets the day she left school. I don’t know what ever happened with the fortune teller, but I can imagine she is still ruining lives and making stupid predictions. Never base your life on the word of someone who tells you your fortune, especially if they charge you for it.
