You do not want to get pulled over in Orange County Florida! The cops there will not give you a break, no matter what. I am an important man in Florida politics. Let me just say that I am related to several prominent politicians. Do the cops care? Not a bit! Florida bigwigs feel perfectly fine about giving the election to George Bush, but they cannot stand the thought of helping out a guy like me. Not only did I have to pay the full amount for reckless driving and speeding, but I had to take a Florida driver improvement course as well.
At first, I thought that the Florida driver improvement course would be no big deal. Don't get me wrong – I was not happy about having to go to Florida traffic school. Still, everything that I had heard about driver improvement classes made me think that it would be no big deal. I had heard that all you had to do, basically, was to show up. I did not think much about the difficulty of Florida driver improvement courses.
Well, whoever said that going to a Florida driver improvement course was easy obviously had a different teacher than I had. This guy must have been a drill sergeant or something with the way that he terrorized our class. He was Just like one of those professors that you occasionally get in college or high school – one of the ones who is teaching a course that everyone thinks is an “easy A”, and wants to show you that you can't just coasts through it. He was adamant about making the Florida driver improvement course as difficult as possible. He said that if more than two thirds of us passed, he hadn't done his duty to the state of Florida. What an idiot. Why do people like that take themselves so seriously?
The strange thing is that drivers education in Florida had not been difficult at all. Everyone I knew had passed it the first time around. So why was a driver improvement course Florida so much harder? Anyone sent to Florida driver improvement course apparently had learned to drive at least once. All they should need, it seems,is a little bit of a refresher. Yet that wasn't the reality of the situation. The Florida driver improvement course was a nightmare. For a moment, I thought I actually might not pass!
