Though I’m not much of a magician, I do know a few card tricks. I didn’t set out to learn them, it just kind of happened. I dated a guy in college who knew a few, and they were certainly not your average tricks. After months and months of begging, he finally showed me how to do a few of them. I don’t do them very often now, but there are moments when things get boring and someone has to do something.
There are hundreds of different card tricks out there, and almost anyone can do them. You just have to have patience and you really have to practice to get the card tricks just right. Even one little slip will give away your secrets. When that happens, the trick is ruined. Make sure you can do it over and over again without slipping up before you attempt to do it for anyone. Once you mess up, the illusion of the trick is broken.
Though I only know a few card tricks, I won’t share how to do them with many people. Though they want to know, it’s a matter of keeping up the illusion. One in particular is very spectacular, as it involves a small fire and numbers appearing on my hand. Unless I have a very good reason, I’m not going to teach anyone else how to do it. The fact that I got it out of someone is a miracle, and it certainly is a showstopper that I don’t want to share. Many people who are into card tricks might feel like this, but they may show you the basics so that you can come up with some of your own.
If you are mystified by the card tricks you see online, you should know they are most definitely a trick. No one is reading your mind, and there is a trick there. You just have to figure it out. I guess perhaps I just like to spoil things for myself, but I have figured out each of these card tricks that I have found online, and I have had to tell some of my more mystified friends how they work. In real life, magic is a matter of redirection, and that same rules apply when you do them online. Remember that the next time you see one, and try to figure out what is going on for yourself.
