Bahamas Honeymoon For The Time Of Your Life

By: Syd Hartha

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm starting to wonder about foreign lands and tourist attractions. Although they sound ideal and appear phenomenal in brochures and ads, not all is what it seems. Did you see the recent flick entitled "Touristas?" Hmm, not such a stellar take on Brazil. Then just last night I was watching "Man on Fire." Mexico City looks like a place no one should go. Now, of course I do realize that these are just movies and simply created for entertainment purposes, but good grief. Can we see some good aspects of these foreign countries? And I don't even want to mention the flick, "Hostel." this brings me to the notion of honeymoon spots. Where is your ideal getaway? Was a Bahamas honeymoon at the top of your list, or are you now looking a little closer to home?

I'm an American kind of guy. I'm always hearing some excited couple ranting on about their upcoming Bahamas honeymoon vacation, or trip to the Caribbean. However, I like to look within the 50 states. After all, I certainly haven't seen all 50 yet. So why would I want to travel outside of the US for a Bahamas honeymoon when I can enjoy an ideal get-away in Savannah, Georgia or the Pocono's? I don't think most Americans even think of these awesome spots to visit. I constantly here girls ramble on about going to Paris or Rome. Then when I ask them where they've been besides their home state, their answer is nowhere. This is a laugh. Why are Americans so focused on foreign countries when they haven't even seen a fraction of this one? Okay, sure a Bahamas honeymoon may sound great, but from what I've heard it's not all it's cracked up to be. My buddy from college traveled there for a spring break and he said it was filthy. Maybe it was just the area he stayed in, or maybe not. He did mention, however, that Hawaii is a much nicer place to vacation.

Thinking about that big honeymoon spot? Hey, this is an incomparable part of your life. Do it up however you please. You only get married once and the original honeymoon is exciting. Maybe that Bahamas honeymoon is right for you and maybe you want to do some more searching. I will say this; do plenty of background work before deciding on a specific spot. It pays to know as much as possible about where you travel to.
